Will This At-Home Remedy Cure Mouth Cancer?
No one wants to get cancer. But one of the worst to get, in terms of what conventional medicine will do to you, is squamous cell cancer of the mouth/throat. It’s a common cancer, often brought on by tobacco use.
It is locally invasive and spreads to neck lymph nodes. For that reason, the conventional treatment is to widely cut it out, do a radical neck lymph-node dissection, radiate your head and neck, and then compromise you with heavy doses of chemotherapy.
The aftermath can be horrible. The surgeon will cut off a good portion of your tongue and throat, carving off about one-third of your neck, and radiation destroys what’s left of your swallowing, sense of taste and smell, and voice box.
And that doesn’t even begin to describe what the chemotherapy does to you. So when Second Opinion reader George Reith developed a squamous cell cancer on the left underside of his tongue, he deliberated hard. He had just received the results of a biopsy, which confirmed the white lesion was cancer.
The center of it was high grade. The surgeon called him and threatened him: “If you don’t come right away for surgery and get the rest cut out, I will have to cut out your whole tongue.” Unnerved, George, then 72 in 2003, took matters into his own hand. He dipped a Q-tip into 35% food-grade hydrogen peroxide and applied it to the tongue lesion. Ouch! That’s highly concentrated peroxide.
Even a drop splashed on your skin will leave a small white spot that will sting for a few hours. However, the spot will completely disappear after that time. He told me that it didn’t hurt too much.
Applying it twice daily for about three months, the lesion vaporized. It’s been five years now, and there’s still no sign of oral cancer. It was hard for me to believe his story. So I contacted the physician who diagnosed the cancer to confirm this report.
He read the pathology report to me, verifying that George did have cancer, but confirmed that the cancer is now gone. I never would have recommended this course of action. But George was very familiar with the medical uses of peroxide. He reasoned that its topical application to cancer cells would cause an immediate kill.
In his case, at least, he was right. Today, we know that hydrogen peroxide is lethal to cancer cells. Medical research shows that vitamin C (in high intravenous doses) is converted to peroxide in the immediate vicinity of cancer cells. The peroxide is a very small molecule, which diffuses exactly like water.
It easily slips into all nearby cells. Normal cells have plenty of antioxidant enzyme power to protect them. Cancer cells don’t. When they come into contact with the peroxide, they just go “poof.” Cancer cells carry lots of iron.
Iron reacts with peroxide molecule groups to create lots of cell destroying free radicals. The herb artemisinin is believed to work by reacting to the peroxide it carries with iron stored in both the malaria parasite and cancer cells.
This is only one case. But, it’s compelling and verified. I’m bringing you this information not because I’m recommending it. I’m not for many reasons. It will be painful. More importantly, the local treatment might work.
But if the cancer has spread to nearby lymph nodes, topical application of peroxide in the mouth wouldn’t get to those cells. If you suffer from cancer in your mouth, there are better ways to treat it than the traditional slash, burn, and poison route. So make sure you speak to an integrative physician before submitting to such brutality.
